Common questions and tips from our work with Forrest City customers.
- What should I do when my truck breaks down on the highway?
- Get fully onto the shoulder or off at the next exit if you safely can, turn on your hazards and set out warning triangles. Note your mile marker or nearest exit, what you heard or felt before the problem, and whether you are loaded. Then call with those details so the repair can be planned before anyone arrives.
- Why does my truck pull to one side when braking?
- Pulling under braking often points to a brake on one side doing more or less work than the other. Causes include a sticking caliper or brake chamber, worn or contaminated linings, an out-of-adjustment brake, or a worn suspension or steering part. It should be checked soon, because uneven braking gets worse with heavy loads and can wear tires and parts quickly.
Tip
Do a quick walkaround before every trip
A short walkaround catches many problems early. Look for air or fluid leaks, check tire condition and inflation, and look at the hubs for leaking grease. Listen for air leaks after the system builds pressure. Note any new noise, vibration or warning light and mention it when you call, since those details help pin down the problem faster.
